When entering the web mapping page for the first time the browser will need to install the Google Earth Plug-in. If it doesn’t run check the top of your screen for a message indicating it is being 'blocked'. You may need to unblock it to allow it to install.
Once installed you will be able to enter your Grower Name, Farm Name and Field Name. You don’t need to enter your Field Name unless you specifically want to look at one field. If you leave it blank all fields will be loaded. This will take longer to load, but is often more convenient.
Once the Information box populates you will see everything is in field name order. To activate a field just click the '+' sign beside the field name and a list of layers will open. To zoom to the field just select a layer by left clicking on it once. You can left click on layers to move them to the top of other layers. This also activates a bubble with a colour table and some statistics.
Printing The images can be printed by clicking the 'Print Me' link in the bubble which will opens a new window. Then right click on the page anywhere other than where the image is, and select print.
There is also a 'documents' section which has pre-made analysis pdf files. These are best opened by right clicking on them, to open in a new tab. They may take some time as they can be quite large.
At the bottom of the Web Mapping interface there are the normal Google Earth tools.
Additional Tools Opens a new pane on the right side of the screen. The 'opacity slider' works on which ever layer is clicked last. This moves that layer to the top, and can also be faded in or out over the top of other layers. If you loose sight of a layer it could be because the slider is turned down.
Measurement Tools To start a new measure click the 'start new measure' tab. Go to the map and draw - as you draw distance or area is displayed. If you stop drawing, you can then reactivate by clicking where the area is displayed. You can right click a point, to add or delete a point and you can move points by clicking and dragging them. At this point the drawing can’t be save but you can right click where the area is displayed and click show points. These points could be sent to gpc@pct-ag.com and we will convert them for you free (if there isn’t to many).
